Jun 08 1898, Died of Wassercucht (heart failure), buried: Jun 10 1898, Fall Creek Wis.  Wilhelm died Germany.  Christine/Ernestine: LDS IGI records show her first name as Christine and Ernestine and her last name as  Ikert and/or Uekert ( 2 differeant spellings). From the interview of 1939 of William Huehnerfuss he said she died in Fall Creek. This is confirmed. St Trinity Luthern Church (now St James) records show this. Death register, page 341. This means her husband must of died and she came to the US with her children. Will have to find burial site yet.Per LDS IGI - A Ernestine Friedrike Ikert is listed w/a Christening  date of July 14, 1844 @ Liebenow, Arnswalde, Brandenburg, Preussen. Her parents are listed as Christian Ikert and MarieEliesabeth Bratz. This may be relation. The Rollenhagen web site (www.rollenhagen.de/branches/usa.htm) lists her name as Christina Bertha Huehnerfuss who emigrated to the US in 1867 per the 1920 census.

II. Marie Christine Huehnerfuss #157 b. Apr 21 1850, Liebenow Arnswalde, Brandenburg, Preusse, m. Nov 17 1875, in Twn of Stettin, Marathon Cty Wis, Daniel Friedrich (Fred) Rollenhagen #158, b. Jan 31 1836, Kilzeig Prussia.  Per the Rollenhagen web site (www.rollenhagen.de/branches/usa.htm) -

 Daniel Friedrich (Fred) Rollenhagen was born on 31 January 1836 in Kilzeig, County Saatzig, Prussia, the son of Anna Sophia Rollenhagen. He was baptised into the Evangelical (Lutheran) church on 7 February 1836.

 Fred emigrated to the United States around 1857 (per 1920 census, naturalized in 1860). He served in Company K of the 51st Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War, enlisting on 6 April 1865 in Berlin, Marathon County, Wisconsin and being discharged on 21 August 1865 in Madison, Wisconsin [19]. His enlistment papers descibe his as being 5 ft 4 inches tall, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, and working as a laborer.

 Fred lived in Berlin, Marathon County, Wisconsin from 1865 until December 1886. He was married first on 6 April 1863 in Berlin township to Louise Rollenhagen Welch. Louisa was born on 10 December 1832 in Prussia (probably Falkenberg), daughter of Peter and Auguste Brummond Rollenhagen. Minister J. Jacob Hoffman performed the ceremony, which was witness by Mr. and Mrs. F. Rollenhagen.

 Louise had been married first on 18 April 1859 in Wausau to Joseph Welch. A Justice of the Peace, Burton Hillard, performed the ceremony, which was witnessed by R. F. Manson and A. Poor. They were apparently divorced prior to April 1863 (perhaps as early as prior to July 1860). Louisa may have had a son, Wilhelm, born in November 1859.

 In 1870, Fred and Louisa farmed in Berlin twp. Fred's farm was valued at $400 and his personal property at $168 [22].  Louisa died on 9 May 1875. She is buried in the Town of Berlin Cemetery, Marathon County, Wisconsin.

 Fred soon remarried on 13 November 1875 in Marathon County, Wisconsin to Maria Ernestine Huehnerfuss. She was born in March 1849 in Liebenow, Brandenburg, daughter of Wilhelm and Christina Bertha Huhnerfuss (emigrated to the United States in 1867 per 1920 census). Wilhelm Rollenhagen and Robert Heyse (or Weyse) witnessed the marriage, which was performed by Reverand Wm. Hudloff of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 1870 through 1872, Frederick Rollenhagen was the Berlin town chairman and in 1878, F. D. Rollenhagen was the town assessor.

 In 1880 they were living in the town of Berlin, Marathon County, Wisconsin. Fred was farming, Ernestine keeping house, and Mathilde, Emielie, and Julius were at school. The youngest three children; Martha, Emma, and Bertha were at home, along with Ernestine's mother [25]. In 1890, Fred lived in Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Ten years later Frederick and Ernestine were living in Ludington, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Fred was farming, their four surviving children lived at home, and his daughter Ricka lived next door. In 1915, he was living in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. In 1920, Fred and Ernestine lived with their sons Ernest and Frederick in Ludington twp, Eau Claire County.

 Fred died on 9 April 1924 in Ludington, Wisconsin. Ernestine died on 23 August 1938 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin.

 i.  Frederike E. (called Ereka or Ricka) Rollenhagen was born on 9 October 1863. She married to H. A. Huehnerfuss. Huehnerfuss was born in Germany, son of Wilhelm Huehnerfus and Christine Uecker. Wm. Hudloff, pastor at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berlin, performed the ceremony, which was witnessed by Friedrich Sabattke and Albert Garske.

 i.  Mathilde Rollenhagen was born on 7 October 1865 in Wisconsin. Mathilde married a Bradal.

 ii.  Emilie Rollenhagen was born on 15 December 1867 in Wisconsin. Emilie married a Baumgart.

 iii.  Julius Rollenhagen was born on 8 July 1871in Wisconsin.

 iv.  Martha M. Albertine Rollenhagen was born on 12 November 1874 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Martha was married on 27 January 1895 in Wausau, WI to Richard Bleichrodt.

 v.  Emma Rollenhagen was born on 27 October 1876 in Wisconsin.

 vi.  Bertha Wilhelmina Mathilde Rollenhagen was born on 28 November 1879 in Berlin. (died before 1900?)

 vii.  Heinrich Herman Friedrich Rollenhagen was born on 5 May 1881. (died before 1900?)

 viii.  Otto Rollenhagen was born on 3 June 1883. (died before 1900?)

 ix.  Friedrich Rollenhagen was born on 25 October 1885. (died before 1900?)

 x.  Anna Rollenhagen was born on 10 June 1887. Anna married a Fenner.

 xi.  Ernest Rollenhagen was born on 21 May 1889. Ernest farmed in 1920, and his parents and brother Frederick  lived with him. He died June 1963.

 xii.  Friedrich Rollenhagen was born on 21 May 1891. Fred died in March 1987 in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Daniel: Daniel/Fred was the son of Anna Sophia Rollenhagen.

III. Carl Frederic Huehnerfuss #144 b. Nov 16 1851, Liebenow Arnswalde Brandenburg Preussen, occupation Farmer, m. 1872, in Germany, Wilhelmine Klatt #145, b. Jun 13 1853, Altenwedell,  Pommern, Preussen, (daughter of Johann David Klatt #547 and Sophia Maass #548) d. Apr 10 1936, Wausau, Wis, buried: Rib Falls.  Carl died Apr 25 1909, Rib Falls, Wis., buried: Rib Falls.  Carl is buried in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery located 4 miles north off Hwy 29 on Hwy 107 and then 1/2 mile west on E 21st St. Carl came to Marathon County from Germany in 1867. The Huehnerfuss farm/homestead is located County from Germany in 1867. The Huehnerfuss farm/homestead is located about 1-1/2 mile west of where Carl is buried on East 21st St. Home is on the Sth side of the road. In other words its about 2 miles west of Hwy 107 on East 21st St. Carl was also a town official for many years. Carl became a US Citizen in 1898.

 Visiting the "old" Huehnerfuss Homestead - by Donald Huehnerfuss - 6/20/98 -

 It was a very interesting day. We went to visit the old Huehnerfuss Homestead of Carl & Wilhelmine. I went with my Uncle Earl and Aunt Marge, Aunt Mona - she sure looks better, Aunt Verna, Sally, Iris & Dick. According to the current owners, Randy & Chris Riehle, the house was built in 1910*. Of the 2 photos of the house I have, the oval photo is the oldest, as the peak of the roof is now flat as the other photo shows and as it is today. According to Mr. Riehle, by going up into the attic there is a ladder which leads to a trap door in the now flat peak of the roof to which you can go thru to get on the roof to clean the chimney. Seems very practical when you think about it. The roof was probably "flattened" so they could clean the chimney easier. Interestingly, I never noticed this before in the 2 photos. The barn has long since burned down. The oval photo also shows a "glitter" of blue, which if you look closely was the "old" house according to Aunt Mona. When standing on the road looking at the house you are facing south, thus the front of the house is north. I paced the inside of the house off at about 13 paces - thus it’s approximately 40’ x 40’ square. When walking into the house from the back door you enter the kitchen. This is unchanged according to Aunt Mona. The kitchen is somewhat smaller then it was when she lived there however. The west side/wall of the kitchen has a new wall. This wall has a hall that leads to a bath room on your left, a closet/pantry to the right, and straight ahead is another room. This room is on the west side of the house. Where you enter this west bed room is where the old wall would have been and it had cupboards and a pantry area. When the inside bath room was added the kitchen was reduced in size - though it’s still a good size. This SW bed room is the room Wilhelmine used after she sold the farm to her son - my Grandpa. It has a door leading to the exterior, though it’s not used today. The room is also smaller than it was - I think the north wall was either added or moved at one time. That’s the "back-side" of the house. From the kitchen you walk to the front of the house. You enter the living room - or it may have been a "dinning" room in its day. The front door is off this room. To the right (east). is a small room Aunt Mona says was "Ma & Pa’s" bed room. I understand Uncle Earl was born in this room - and probably my dad. As a side note - my dad, born in November of 1928, said there was a bad snow storm when he was born and that the midwife could not make it to the house, thus Grandpa (William) helped give birth to his son Merlin. On the other side of this large "front" room (west side) is a smaller room which was used as a "living" room - (though to me, these 2 rooms where probably used as one). Aunt Mona said when they moved off the farm (about the spring or fall of 1929 - school was going on per Verna) they still didn’t have electricity but they did have a phone. The phone was on the wall next to the front door. In the SW corner of this front room is a door leading to the east side of the house - which I believe is/was the same room Wilhelmine lived in (the same room as off the kitchen) except today a new wall divides what was once one large room - or at least a door way was between the 2 rooms connecting them. Next to the opening from the front room to the kitchen - in the center of the house - is a door leading upstairs. As I helped Aunt Mona up the steps I could tell her memories where returning. When she got to the top of the steps there is a wall running east & west with a door just about right in front of you & Aunt Mona immediately said - that was "Ma’s" closet. To the left (east) was an opening which was the "attic". Today it’s fixed up more though. To the right (west) was/is a hall. To the left (south) at the end of the hall is a door (which is not used any more) which leads to the roof of the porch over the rear of the house. Mona said this used to be a window, not a door, I’m not so sure. Right in front of you is a door to bed room (off this hall) - it has a good sized walk in closet too. Mona said this was used by a hired hand. Going Nth down the hall you come to another bed room in the NW corner of the house. This room was "Aunt Hulda’s" and nobody messed with it. Aunt Hulda stayed here when she would come home. She married later in life - and at the time (mid ‘20’s) lived/worked in Madison. Aunt Hulda was grandpa’s sister. To the right of the entrance to "Hulda’s" room is/was a small hall leading to 2 other rooms. The far east room has a register in the floor and Mona said they would listen thru it when "Ma" gave birth.

 *Mrs Riehle said the papers for the house stated that the house was build in 1910 with a question mark next to the construction time. You may assume that the house was built by Carl & Wilhelmine, but - Carl died in April of 1909 - thus the house was still under construction when he died and/or was just completed around the 1909/1910 time. Carl probably never got to live in the house. Wilhelmine then "owned" the property until an agreement made in March of 1915 with her son William, who then took over ownership under the provisions of the transfer of deed agreement.  The agreement in which William had to pay Wilhelmine for the transfer of the deed to the property (land only?) in 1915 is approximately as follows - William had to (1) Provide for Wilhelmine - allowing her use of 2 rooms in the house on the 1st floor and 2 rooms upstairs. (2) As long as Hulda is single pay for any medical attention required plus $40 per year (3) Pay Emil (his brother) $3000 in 3 years after the 1915 agreement (4) Pay Hulda $200 in 1 year (4) Pay Wilhelmine $500 in 1 year. One thing not known is what the mortgage on the house itself was. In addition to the payment for the property William probably had to assume paying off this mortgage as well. William owned the house until he "lost it to the bank" in what is believed to be the spring and/or fall of 1929 at which time William, his family and his mother Wilhelmine moved to town.

 Additional Huehnerfuss Information -

 So far I have identified four existing Huehnerfuss families living today. (1) Is the descendants of Carl Huehnerfuss and his brothers/sisters who came to the US.  All Huehnerfuss’s in the US today are their descendants. (2) I have contact with Kurt and his father Eberhard Huehnerfuss living in Germany today (3) I have contact with Heinrich Huehnerfuss and his family who live in Germany today, and (4) I have contact with Norbert Gschweng whose mother is/was a Huehnerfuss who lives in Germany today.

 All four of these families seem to originate in the same geographic area of Germany (today in current Poland) within about a 25 mile radius. Thus, though no exact “connection” is known, it may be assumed we are all related.

 Further, in reviewing the German phone listing via the internet, there are only 33 numbers/families listed, of which I can identify almost all of them thru the three Germany Huehnerfuss families I have contact with. If you have the name Huehnerfuss, I believe we are related !!!. Wilhelmine: Wilhelmine is buried by her husband Carl in the Emmanuel Luthern Cemetery. Is buried in St. Peter Luthern Cemetary - 1 mile west of Hwy 107 on Cty A (in Hamburg). The August in his name - he was known as Herman - is from the LDS listing. Friedricka: Per the Rollenhagen web site (www.rollenhagen.de/branches/usa.htm) -

 Frederike E. (called Ereka or Ricka) Rollenhagen was born on 9 October 1863, daughter of Daniel Friedrich Rollenhagen and Louisa Rollenhagen. She married in 1877 to Herman A. Huehnerfuss . Huehnerfuss was born in August 1859 in Germany, son of Wilhelm Huehnerfuss and Christine Uecker. Wm. Hudloff, pastor at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berlin, performed the ceremony, which was witnessed by Friedrich Sabattke and Albert Garske. In 1900, the Huehnerfuss family lived next door to her father Fred Rollenhagen in Ludington, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin . Herman was a farmer and son Albert worked as a day laborer.

 From my notes - She is buried in St Peter Luthern Cemetary - about 1 mile west of Hwy 107 on Cty A out of Little Chicago (in Hamburg). In a 1910 Federal Census for the Township of Hamburg, her name is listed as Carie. Friedricka is her Christened name per the LDS records.

From the Huehnerfuss History by Delores (Huehnerfuss) Oelke, she has Alberts first name listed as Robert - I don't think this is right as his Grave stone says Albert. Ida: Her Grave stone lists her birth year as 1879.
