Travel to Armenia

Be A Volunteer

It's called Volun-tourism and it's one of the growing trends around the world. Rather than just head for the local theme park or lay on a board for a week, entire families are getting together to explore the world through acts of good work. You can do the same by organizing your own United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) team to come to Armenia.

The United Methodist Church has open doors, open hearts and open minds. More importantly, its UMVIM teams welcome everyone to the team to go out into the world to "put God's love in action."

Teams are non-proselytizing. In other words, you're not here to preach the word of God. Rather, you may use your gifts for teaching, carpentry, medical attention, hauling stones, painting, listening, caring, hugging and any of your other gifts to make a postive difference in people's lives here.

In addition, most or all of your costs to travel to Armenia through an UMVIM team can be tax deductible.

UMCOR Armenia welcomes teams, as well as Individual UMVIM people. All costs are borne by the volunteers and no fees are paid to UMCOR. To talk more about how you might want to serve, how to organize a team, expected costs, living conditions and more, email me and I'll help you on your way to what could turn out to be a life-changing experience for you or someone on your team!
