I tend to write a lot of little tools, mostly for work and in basic. However lately I've been using Excel. These tools do rough work, but are good enough to see if further analysis is required. There are no macros in these templates. Do the right click thing to your mouse on the link to save them. Ok, I've zipped these files since the .XLS extension is now being blocked... god knows why.

cfm.xls calculates the fan size in CFM required to cool an enclosure

therm.xls calculates the thermal rise across an interface, like a mica insulator under a transistor.

bussbar.xls enter the dimensions and it calculates resistance, voltage drop and power loss.

wiring.xls calculates voltage at load when given wire AWG, length, current and supply voltage.

ballistics.xls calculates bullet energy, momentum and sectional density

Propagation.xls calculates VHF/UHF propagation for short distances

Cap.xls calculates hold-up time or bulk capacitor value for a switching power supply.
