Lord, you have given me so much. As we begin this new year, let me never forget what you have given me. Family, friends, a purpose in life, sunshine, joys and even struggles. Each is a gift from you and let me always have the courage to give you the credit for all I have, all I may achieve. Whether I'm talking to others or they merely watch how I live my life, help me to stay your course so that everyone knows that I am yours. It's not enough to be a Christian and try to do no harm. Rather, we need to know when to stand up each day to try to make a difference in your name. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Please keep the following people in your prayers:
-- My family in Wisconsin, which is beginning the year with overwhelming struggles. Please help them to lean on God with all their troubles.
-- UMCOR Armenia staff and the people it serves as we continue to search for funding so we can keep our programs going to help make a positive difference. Please help them to have faith and courage to accept the changes necessary while we continue our search.
-- My student, Mariam, who will begin a 10-month program in Greece, far from her family for the first time in her life. Please keep her safe and help her parents not to worry.
-- My friends Quinn and Jeff, both of whom are serving prison sentences. Please help these two young men repent and to cling to God for strength.
-- The staff and students from the Agribusiness Teaching Center, who have the month of January off for vacation. Please keep each safe so we can meet again in February and continue our adventures in learning.
-- Our friends Lori, Glenn, Alice and Alfred who recently left Armenia. Please help them adjust to life back in America and continue to contribute their talents in the same way they did in Armenia.
