WASCOE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION - 2005 Eligible Candidate: Any senior who will be graduating from high school who averaged at least a "C" or better and who is a WASCOE member, a member's spouse, or a member's child or legal dependent. The member must be a FSA employee who has paid their WASCOE dues for the two previous years or since becoming a FSA employee, which ever is less. Items to include with the attached application:1) An official transcript of grades for the past three years, 2) a letter of recommendation from the high school guidance counselor, and 3) the essay, not to exceed one double-spaced, type written page. The essay topic is: "Would Competition from Privately Owned Schools Improve Education? Why or why not?" By-Laws of WASCOE Scholarship Award
1) Changes and amendments in the Awards Program must be approved by the WASCOE Board of Directors. 2) All funds will be deposited with and disbursed by the WASCOE Treasurer. 3) The scholarship must be used the school year immediately following its award. 4) All funds received shall be disbursed for award purposes. 5) Money will be disbursed after receipt of transcript from the first quarter or semester and confirmation of enrollment into the second quarter or semester. 6) Previous scholarship winners are not eligible to reapply for the scholarship award. However, previous applicants are encouraged to reapply.
