EASY MONEY Susan Blachowiak, Scholarship Chair The Wisconsin Association of Farm Service Agency County Office Employees (WASCOE) has the opportunity to be part of your child’s future by providing three scholarships. To be eligible, applicants must be a WASCOE member, a member’s spouse, child or legal dependent of a current member, who have paid their dues for the past two consecutive years (WASCOE scholarship) five years (NASCOE scholarship) or since becoming a permanent FSA employee, which ever is less. Applicants may either be a high school senior or graduate with a minimum of a “C” average in both their junior and senior year of high school. They can also be a full-time college student (minimum of 12 credit hours) with a minimum of a “C” average up to the Bachelor Degree level. Applications will be scored on a scale of 100 points as follows; · Essay 1 to 40 points · Scholastic Achievement 1 to 25 points · Extra Curricular/Community Service 1 to 15 points · Work Experience 1 to 15 points · Neatness 1 to 5 points There will be one $500 and two $250 WASCOE scholarships awarded this year. The National Association of State and County Office Employees (NASCOE) will award a $1500 scholarship to the area winner and $2500 to the national winner. The WASCOE application is separate and distinct from the NASCOE application. Applicants can use the WASCOE application in this newsletter or go on line at www.wiwascoe.org The NASCOE application can be downloaded from www.nascoe.org The deadline for both applications is February 20, 2005.
